Some of you may know what I do, some may not. Some may have heard someone mention my name or work. That's ok. What matters is that you are reading this now.
The "why" has been important to me for as long as I can remember. This feeling was further validated when I read Simon Sinek's book "Start with Why" in my late 20's. If you are not familiar with his golden circle of why, how, what, please check it out here.
Back to me... Why do I do what I do?
In one line:
I want to make a difference.
In a paragraph:
I want to make a difference in the lives of people I interact with. I want mums to feel truly empowered and strong. I want my students to feel like they have someone who truly listens to them, and that they are equipped to navigate the world outside university. I want my mentees to feel like they have an empathetic guide and sounding board. When I am no longer around, I want people to remember me as someone who made a difference in their lives, no matter how small it was.
So this is it. This is why I do what I do. I hope this has brought you a little closer to knowing me.
And yes, for those of you who don't know what I do, I am a coach, a lecturer, a birth worker, mentor, trying to make a difference...
Anjali
